Many a servant leader has left a significant and positive impression in his or her community—Rachel Carson, Aldo Leopold, John Muir, Al Gore and Wangari Maathai all come to mind this Independence Month. Yet as green lantern leaders, our mission is not to fill the shoes of our predecessors, but to take the next step and strides on that path forward. Emancipation from mental slavery starts with courage and continues with encouragement of others.
